Using a Speedlite flashgun to provide additional light can enhance your photography significantly and expand the opportunities available to you. However, using the flashgun on-camera can cause unwanted shadows and can be quite harsh. The best solution is to move the flashgun off-camera – whether that's above or to the side.
This coiled flash cable from Metz allows you to move your flashgun up to 1.8 metres away from your EOS camera. It features a dedicated hotshoe connection so you can retain full TTL operation whilst the flashgun is positioned off-camera. Slip one end of the cord into the camera's hotshoe, then attach your flashgun into the hotshoe fitting on the other end of the cable. There's also a tripod socket on the base of the hotshoe so you can mount your flash onto a tripod to save holding by hand. It'll do the same job as the Canon OC-E3 Off Camera Shoe Cord, but allows you to get the flash even further away from your camera (OC-E3 cable length 0.6 metres).
Compatible with all Canon Speedlite flashguns.
