  1. A simple, reliable wireless remote controller from Canon for firing your EOS camera. It works from up to five metres away, from any direction, with no line-of-sight needed. Powered by one CR2032 cell battery (included).

    Once paired with a compatible camera it is easy to operate, offering immediate shutter release when pressed. The AF button when pressed ensures that your subject is in focus. If unable to achieve focus, the camera will not fire.

    There are three modes available via a slider switch on the side of the remote: immediate firing, two-second delay and movie shooting mode. In Movie shooting mode, the first press of the release button starts the recording, the second press ends the recording.

    The Bluetooth connection disables power saving (sleep) options, meaning that the camera stays awake and ready to be fired, even if not in operation. You can only pair one camera to one Bluetooth remote at a time. However, you can break the connection and reconnect to a different device.
  2. Compatible with the following Canon EOS cameras:
    EOS 77D, 90D, 800D, 850D, 200D, 250D, 6D Mark II
    EOS M50, M6 Mark II, M200
    EOS R, Ra, RP, R5, R6

    Also works with the Power Zoom PZ-E1 (and compatible lens), allowing operation of the zoom and eliminating the need to touch the lens, ideal when shooting movies. As at May 2017, the PZ-E1 is only compatible with the EOS 80D, which does not have Bluetooth connectivity.

The BR-E1 works fine, a lot of money for such a small item. The only problem is getting definitive installation instructions. Nothing in the M50 on line manual, nothing included with the BR-E1, fortunately Canon have a M50 Help Guide pdf.
